The final phase of the Main Street reconstruction project for the section between Foch Bridge and Chesley Street, including Dock Street, is scheduled to begin on May 13, 2024, and continue until the end of November 2024. At a construction cost of approximately $9.1 million, the project aims to modernize and upgrade the water supply, sanitary sewer, and stormwater infrastructure along Main Street, benefiting Shediac residents.

Here are a few points to keep in mind:
  • • Traffic management will be diligently overseen by a dedicated traffic control division.
  • • Two-way traffic flow will be maintained on Main Street.
  • • Residents should still anticipate some traffic delays.
  • • We recommend planning for additional travel time accordingly.
  • • Businesses in the area will remain accessible to patrons.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience during this period of infrastructure enhancement. For more information and updates, please visit the reconstruction project webpage.

We are delighted to announce the launch of the new season of the Town of Shediac's Cultural Policy Grant Program. We're excited to open the doors to a variety of cultural initiatives that will enrich our community and showcase local talent. This year, we're committed to supporting a wide range of cultural projects that reflect the richness and diversity of our community. Whether you're an emerging artist, a passionate theater group or a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting culture, we encourage you to apply for a grant.

Grants will be awarded to projects that foster community participation, encourage cultural innovation and contribute to strengthening the social fabric of our city. We are particularly interested in projects that highlight different axes of cultural policy and that meet the criteria of the grant program.
