Born in France in a small village, in a region often admired for its rural landscapes, Jean-Loup Guérin now lives in Shediac, where he established his art studio. His mother was an accomplished artist, and his grand-father was an art teacher. All of these factors no doubt influenced his interest in painting and drawing.
Jean-Loup studied at the Department of Visual Arts, at the Université du Québec in Hull, at the Ottawa School of Art and with other Canadian artists. He is also a photographer and sculptor.
